Office Web Apps

So far, the only way to use Microsoft Office for free was to try a trial version. Now Office is available for free as a Web application.

Office Web Apps is Microsoft office suite available for use from the browser through your Windows Live account.

Similarly, as you have your email through Hotmail, Office Web Apps allows you to use Word, Excel and PowerPoint files directly from your web browser.

The application is fully integrated with SkyDrive, the online storage service by Microsoft, which offers up to 25GB of space to store your documents.

Applications included in Office Web Apps are, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and One Note.

Its interface, though it may seem basic, includes the most frequently used ones in the desktop version of Office. In addition, there is an option to tranfer the document you are editing to the desktop version of Office, in which you can continue modifying the document.

In this way, the Office Web Apps will become one of the most promising Web applications out there.
